Amazon Store Strategy
Avanchy Store Redesign Featuring Strategy and Design by Bree Reetz
Creating An Effective Structure Is Essential.
Amazon Storefronts have a lot of similarities with websites, especially in the way that they are structured. This structure has to be easy for a user to navigate in order to be effective. This means that the strategy around how to structure an Amazon Storefront is super important.
I could have just implemented the client's requested changes for the navigation (add specials) and they would have been pleased. But I knew there was untapped potential.
I identified that users might be shopping with any of the following intentions:
They may visit often and want to know what's new.
They might be looking for a special/sale.
They might be trying to find products for a specific age range/feeding stage.
They might be looking for a specific material.
They might want to invest in a curated Avanchy collection.
Or they might just be looking for a specific product type.
I re-built the structure to make the store more user-friendly an appeal to the Avanchy customer.
The home page also provides a visually appealing entry point for every category.
Repetition
I used the design principle of repetition to make each category page predictable.
The repetition of how these pages look and function make them easier to navigate.
When you experience each category page side-by-side, it is easy to see how the repetition of alignment and tile type aid in comprehension of the page's overall function.
